The Rational Group, owners of PokerStars had a couple of things to say about the Atlantic Club Casinos closure as of January 13th, 2014.
In a yearend blog post made by the rational group they placed the blame on The Atlantic Club. These are some of the things that the group had to say, “It’s always a horrible thing when people have to endure the loss of a job, especially so close to the holiday season. The worse thing about this is that it didn’t have to happen.”
The group continued on by saying, “At this point in time last year PokerStars took the time to reach an agreement that would allow for the future of the casino to remain secure and the 1,800 jobs that followed. We were going to offer new technology, new blood and new finances to the casino. As the Spring came close New Jersey was in talks to have legal online gambling and land based casinos could gain licenses to operate online. Which lead to our deal being recanted.”
“The owners of the casino then gambled on everyone of their employees future hoping that they would be able to gain a lead in the competition with a new online casino. After walking away from the contract and money we had given them alongside the contract they weren’t able to gain an online gambling license in the state of New Jersey.”
Finally they noted, “As of January 13th, 2014 the casino will be torn down to the ground, the games will be sent away to other land based casinos and the employees will be put out of a job. We do not share this type of management and we can just hope that the 1,800 employees don’t have a rough time in this hard economy.”
