It was only two weeks ago, a month away from when the new regulation laws in the UK would take into effect with PokerStars UK announced that they would be leaving the market. Hundreds of punters around the UK expressed their disappointment to this issue which resulted in PokerStars U.K announcing that they’d continue to operate in the market a week later. Now we stand here two weeks away from when these new regulation laws will take into effect, PokerStars UK putting this to their advantage announced what they plan to do with migrating punters over to their new websites and what they plan to do with operating as a regulated casino.
UK Players were sent an email with the “Migration FAQ” which essentially stated that everything will remain as the same as it once was before but players won’t receive such large player reward bonuses due to the new taxation laws being put into place. This means punters won’t have to worry about their experience changing with PokerStars.
This migration will begin on October 1st, 2014 which is the day when these new regulation laws will be put into effect. Everything you have with the previous UK PokerStars website will be switched over to the new one. This includes your security setting, usernames, player notes, passwords, cashier settings and VPP Balances. If you are a mobile punter you will need to uninstall the old PokerStars UK Mobile App and download the new one, this will be the most difficult aspect of the migration process.
